Trip Report: Reflections on Jaipur, Rajasthan – Days 5 & 6, Five Stops of Light India Photography Tour & Expedition, 2011
Rajasthan – the very word epitomises grandiose forts and palaces, exotic markets, men sporting elaborately-wrung turbans and immaculately groomed moustaches, and women in brightly colored sarees… well, we were there finally at around 11 PM on day 4 of our photography tour & expedition in India.
Having flown back to Delhi from the Varanasi leg of our expedition, we drove to what has been termed “The Pink City” – Jaipur. For those who came in late, it’ called “The Pink City” owing to the color of the homes and establishments that make up the old quarter of this ever-expanding habitat.
We spent days five and six making photos of people in the busy markets, and also photographing the many palaces and forts to be found here. I chose to concentrate on reflections, as erm… reflected by the title of this post.
Our next stop is The Pushkar Camel Fair – watch this space!
